A repository and a deployed website may describe different stages of a project. A feature in the source is not proof that it is available on the current live version. I keep those references separate in a portfolio presentation.
Screenshots should identify the version or context they represent. Links can then take a reader to the live experience or the implementation with a clear expectation. This keeps the project story accurate while still showing work that is developing over time.
