A prototype with many screens is not automatically informative. I am more interested in whether it helps examine an important flow or decision. A small sequence can be useful if it shows how an interaction behaves from beginning to end.
The level of detail should fit the question. Some questions need realistic content, while others only need a clear transition between states. I choose the scope around what can be learned rather than treating the number of connected screens as the main result.
