Pixel sorting can produce a wide range of results from the same source. Thresholds, direction and selected regions change the structure of the image. I find it useful to record those choices alongside the exported variation.
A small contact sheet makes comparison easier than a folder of unnamed files. Notes can identify what each iteration tested and why one was kept. The record turns an unexpected image into a process that can be revisited and developed further.
